About this device
VISIA comes from Canfield Scientific in the U.S., a specialist in medical imaging, and is the clinical skin-analysis system used by clinics around the world. At RÉVI·AN it is not a photo opportunity — it is the first step of every consultation and skin-management plan.
Using standardised positioning with the IntelliFlash® system, VISIA photographs the face from the front and both sides under standard, cross-polarised and UV light. Cross-polarised light removes surface glare to reveal what lies beneath the surface; UV imaging exposes sun damage that has not yet surfaced. Canfield's RBX® technology separates the red (vascular) and brown (pigment) signals, and the system quantifies eight metrics — spots, wrinkles, texture, pores, UV spots, brown spots, red areas and porphyrins — grading each against a large global skin-feature database of people the same age and skin type, as a percentile score, together with a TruSkin Age® skin-age reference.
The scan is non-invasive, painless and takes about 15–30 minutes including the walkthrough of your report with your therapist. Because lighting, angle and position are standardised, before-and-after images across a course are genuinely comparable. See the skin clearly first — then decide what to treat, and what to leave alone.
